Curcumin SAP Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a plant native to South India and Indonesia and has been valued in Asia for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. In Ayurvedic medicine, it is used for wound healing and respiratory conditions. Curcumin is a component of turmeric that has been the focus of extensive scientific research for its vast range of therapeutic applications in autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn’s disease, and eczema, as well as to improve poststroke outcomes.
